Have you always dreamed of having a dog when you saw reruns of classic television Lassie as a child? Or perhaps you were lucky enough to see the original series. While your dog may not be able to save you, week after week from a burning building, a freight train running, or the bottom of a well (and in the time required to complete an episode of 30 minutes, too), have a dog can be a wonderful experience.
Here are 10 things you should know and consider before choosing your four-legged friend.
1- Dogs take a lot of time and energy. Yes, they are rewarding. But if you live alone and work twenty hours a day, then maybe a dog is not the best choice for you. Hey, there are always those super-cool robot dogs.
2- If you are not home frequently, and you really want a dog, you should probably invest in a dog walker. It would probably be wise to choose a breed of dog that is not particularly necessary, too. Learn Breedopedia PetMD to choose from a wide variety of breeds.
3- Any dog ?? you get should be tailored to your lifestyle, not only that, but those around you. If you live in a shoebox apartment, then a big dog is not a good choice. You do not want your dog to develop health problems, bored, or destroy things. Big dogs really belong to large sites with a lot of outdoor space.
4- Consider that the races are suitable for the climate in your area, especially if you have a garden and want to keep as a dog outside.
5- Puppies require more work when it comes to training. If (a) is not the things you do not want chewed, or (b) have the time or the money to train the puppy, consider adopting an adult dog already housebroken.
